Many decided to kill consoles years ago after the rise of the PC and the comparisons of this hardware in architecture. However, we have seen how the costs between the two devices to play have stabilized, and consoles continue to be of vital importance in the video game market. Actually, I am convinced that if we had not had this shortage and this increase in the cost of components, sales would have almost doubled.
Similarly, and despite the problems, new consoles, including the Nintendo Switch, are selling like hotcakes. So it seems that these types of machines are in very good shape today.

Phil Spencer has already confirmed in the past that The Xbox Series wouldn’t be Microsoft’s last consoleso at least Smith’s words shouldn’t be taken as something absolute, but as a guess given the uncertainty about where the market is headed.
