Playground Games has announced that under certain conditions, some Xbox Game Pass subscribers will receive the game Forza Horizon 4 for free.
Due to licensing issues, Forza Horizon 4 will be removed from all digital stores on December 15, 2024, as we previously reported.
Anyone who has only played Forza Horizon 4 through Xbox Game Pass and has purchased a DLC or expansion for the game will receive the game for free. All subscribers who meet the requirements will receive a Forza Horizon 4 token via the Xbox Message Center on the console so that they own the full version of the game.
Anyone who owns Forza Horizon 4 can download and reinstall the game at any time, regardless of whether it is listed in the store or not. However, the digital repurchase of Forza Horizon 4 will no longer be possible from December 15, 2024.
Playground Games announced: “On December 15, Forza Horizon 4 will be removed from stores and Xbox Game Pass. This means that the game and its additional content will no longer be available for purchase. Players who already own the game and its content will be able to download and play it as usual, including offline, online and multiplayer features; physical copies of the game purchased after this date will also work and be able to use online features.”
“If you played Forza Horizon 4 through Xbox Game Pass and purchased DLC content for it, don’t worry: If you have an active, fully paid (non-discounted) Xbox Game Pass subscription on 6/25, you will be able to receive a game token when you purchased additional content for Forza Horizon 4 through your Xbox Message Center. Codes will be delivered in the next few days. Please keep in mind that it may take a while for you to receive your token.”
There will also be a Forza Horizon 4 sale on July 14, 2024, so that everyone can get their hands on the game at a reasonable price.
