Xbox Games Won’t Have CGI in the Xbox Games Showcase

Games published by Xbox Studios will not display CGI trailers in the Xbox Games Storefront.

Yesterday we already had the good news from the beginning of the week in which we found out that the next Xbox Games Showcase was going to last 2 hours and today Aaron Greenberg made it clear that first-party Xbox games won’t feature CGI trailers

(computer generated images). In fact, according to him, there will only be trailers inside the game, through the game engine or cutscenes.

None of our first board games in the series are full CGI trailers. It’s all either in-game footage, in-engine footage, or in-game footage with some cutscenes. Each of our trailers will be labeled so it’s hopefully clear to our fans.

This only applies to First Party games., so it is possible that other companies present trailers of this type. Finally, Aaron also pointed out that there will be no trailers for movies, series or anything like that, only from GAMES! So, a priori, there will be no trailer for the second season of Halo.

Relatively frustrating and not at all celebrated by the community lately, the rule that games presented in the next 12 months will not be this year’s strategy.
