The Xbox is becoming a niche product and in the future everything will come to PlayStation, explains Jez Corden from WindowsCentral.
WindowsCentral’s Jez Corden waved the white flag today and revealed Microsoft’s future plans.
According to him, everything will be released for the PlayStation in the future. Halo, Forza, Gears, Starfield, Indiana Jones – everything!
The Xbox brand will thus become a niche product and the continued hardware will only be for real hardcore Xbox fans. Similar to the Steam Deck, which is also not intended for the mass market.
Jez said: “I don’t think they expect to ever grow in hardware.”
“I think they’re willing to accept that Xbox will remain niche, similar to Steam Deck, while launching a new category of devices,” Jez added about X to understand.
“Affordable gaming PCs based on Xbox – the first Windows Lite for gaming.”
Microsoft will run Xbox more like Steam in the future. The new ecosystem is primarily intended to convince more players: affordable prices, better deals, more open to all developers. Everything just like on Steam! But that’s not all, because the next Xbox console will be able to load and access Steam and other stores. This means you can run all store clients on the Xbox.
He then added on Discord: “Nobody wanted to give Xbox a chance and that’s what they get with a Sony monopoly.”
These words contradict Phil Spencer’s statements.
Phil said: “There is no fundamental change in our understanding of exclusivity, so four games, no further promises. So if you’re on the other platforms and see these four games, please don’t take that as a signal that everything is coming. That’s not it.”
TO UPDATE
Jez said via X that it was meant differently in Discord when it was recorded.
I’ve seen people post this comment out of context and then act like I’m “blaming Xbox fans.” This is nonsense taken out of context.
I’ve talked about the way Microsoft recognizes trends like digital, but then screws up messaging. Content creators didn’t wait five minutes… https://t.co/JJiNoXDdYZ
