The Gears of War saga is one of the biggest and most beloved Xbox franchises. Something that was demonstrated with the announcement of its new opus, E-Day, presented during the last Xbox Game Showcase. A prequel game that brings back the two most beloved characters of the saga, Marcus and Doom, in an adventure that will tell the famous Day of Emergency.
But this is not the only content planned for the future, since Xbox and The Coalition want to expand it with new audiovisual content. Among the projects is a live action film for which they want a big Hollywood director and producer.
Xbox wants Spielberg to adapt Gears of War for the big screen
Just like is reported on the networksPhil Spencer would be in conversations with none other than Steven Spielberg. The filmmaker, winner of sagas like Alien or Ready Player One, already had family ties with the Halo series, of which he was executive producer. Now, Xbox would once again be interested in its experience and quality for the adaptation of Gears of War on the big screen.
Conversations which have already started and which, they emphasize, excite Spielberg’s group, which believes that the saga is more than prepared for this leap. Of course, I would like to have full control over production. Will this come to fruition?
