You already know that the launch of the new Xbox experience is on the way, which is essentially a major overhaul of the console’s dashboard, with relevant usability changes and design. We’ve been hearing about it for a few months thanks to some members of the Insider program sharing their clips and captures.
However, there is one change that seems to please no one. And it is that Microsoft puts more and more promotional tiles and hides, little by little more and more, the wallpapers. Users want to see our wallpapers, so complaints were quick to come.
Wallpapers will have more relevance on Xbox
The Xbox team seems to have taken note of users’ concern about this, and for this reason, they have made it clear that they will be working to improve the visibility of wallpapers on Xbox. It’s not an oath sealed in blood, and the message is somewhat ambiguous (for a change), but damn it, do we know they’re in it.
In the last entry of Channel Insiderwe can read that those of Redmond they take feedback seriously users :
We’ve heard a lot of mixed feedback, including a wish to see more of your custom background. We are on it! Stay tuned for more information soon.
New series of updates coming soon
The company also clarified that there will soon be new updates in the various Insider rings so that more users can try out the new experience which is still in development.
Starting this week, all users of the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha rings will be able to preview the new Home experience. Users will receive different designs of the experience. We look forward to hearing what you think of each.
