On March 16, the new official Xbox wireless headset goes on sale for everyone. It is true that the reserves are almost exhausted, but it will surely take a short time to be fully available. In the meantime, we can review its characteristics to see that these $ 99 that they cost quickly pay off given the quality of these, because it is already difficult to find wireless headphones for this price.
But seeing these same characteristics in the Official web, we can see that they support Windows Sonic (free), Dolby Atmos, and DTS: X for headphones. As you know, these latter two need a license and here is the good news, since the Xbox Wireless Headphones will come with a limited activation of Dolby Atmos which will be available to all users who buy them until September 30th. 2021.
Free Dolby Atmos until September with your Xbox headsets
And we won’t have to redeem any codes or redeem anything. Everything will be as simple as the following, activation requires two simple steps:
- Connect your Xbox Wireless Headset to your Windows 10 console or PC.
- Download and open the Dolby Access app.
On the app loading page, you will receive a notification at the bottom of your screen confirming the activation – “Dolby Atmos for Headphones is ready to use” – and it can be verified by the test countdown which will appear at the top right of the app home screen:

End of test: XX months / days / hours
However, for those who are worried about running out of this license, it costs only $ 17.99 in the Microsoft Store, and it is forever. If you don’t want to pay anything, Windows Sonic, the free version of Dolby Atmos, is still a valid option.
