With the start of XDefiant Season 2, the Highwaymen come into play.
Ubisoft announced that Season 2 of XDefiant, the free, fast-paced arcade shooter from developer studio Ubisoft San Francisco, has started.
XDefiant features factions inspired by some of Ubisoft’s most popular brands and is free to download and play on PC via Ubisoft Connect, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X|S.
The Highwaymen have arrived: Inspired by the anarchic survivors of Hope County 2035, the Highwaymen storm the arena to wreak havoc in XDefiant The ruthless survivors have the following unique abilities: The ultimate ability is the sawblade launcher, with which they can shoot sawblades that bounce off surfaces and go through their enemies.
Two other skills are also part of this faction’s arsenal: the improvised cannon, an automatic machine gun with a 360-degree field of fire, and the M79 grenade launcher. Thanks to their passive ability, their rate of fire and reload speed increase as they kill more enemies.
Bomb mode is here: After its introduction in Season 1, Bomb Mode is now being introduced in Season 2, which requires a more strategic mindset from players as they must alternate between defending and defusing an explosive device.
Also new in Season 2 – Private Matches: Private Matches will be available as a beta during Season 2. In Private Matches, players can create a custom game and choose from all available maps, modes, and ranked or unranked rules. It will also be possible to set specific teams.
Coming soon: In-Game Events: Players can look forward to in-game events in Season 2. The kick-off is the Aerospaceevent that will be introduced to coincide with the launch of the new Air & Space map. Additional in-game events will be added throughout the season and beyond.

- three new Battle Pass weapons:
- PP19 submachine gun
- SPAS-12 shotgun
