This machine may be more powerful than you think, but it’s still a feat to run a game like this.
DOOM lovers have been living through wild times in recent years. We’ve seen crazy ports that bring the original game even into microwaves or refrigerators. Moreover, there is the fact of the recent DOOM Eternal and not too long ago we had Mighty DOOM, a game where the Doom Slayer transforms into an adorable doll for mobile devices.
But let’s take a break from Eternal. The game works with Ray Tracing and is visually flawless on consoles and PC. No one would ever say that, say, an original PS2 or Xbox could move it without a rage.. But… what if I told you that someone managed to get it to work on a $10 calculator?
A calculator with Android and more powerful than you think
Of course, this “someone” isn’t just anyone, it’s Taki Udon, a youtuber who specializes in porting games to impossible platforms and focuses much of his content on laptops or emulators, among others. Its milestone was precisely that, turning a calculator into a complete machine capable of running emulators and even a modded port of DOOM Eternal.
Although there is something tricky about it. And it is that as cheap as it is, it is not just any calculator, it is a machine with Android and at least 1 GB of Ram. That doesn’t make it any less worthy. but explain a bit better how you managed to do that
