When we said that Microsoft had other plans or that its competitors were not Sony and Nintendo, we may have had in mind something similar to what is happening today. We had already announced it in the middle of last month and it didn’t take long for it to become reality: the Xbox app for Amazon Fire TV Stick starts to be available from today.
The application is completely similar to what we can already enjoy on the new Samsung smart TVs, so the operation is well known. For now, we will “only” be able to play the titles included in Xbox Cloud Gaming, so we will need the following to be able to play on any TV with an HDMI connection:
- An Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K or 4K Max model
- A Bluetooth game controller like the Xbox Series controller
- Have an active subscription to Xbox Cloud Gaming or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
200 million potential customers can join Xbox today
Perhaps some do not give it the relevance it really has, since precisely its inclusion in the most modern Samsung Smart TVs has not had such an impact. But the Amazon Fire TV Stick, With an old TV that doesn’t even need to be a 15 year old Smart TV with HDMI, it is capable of doing wonders. We’re not just talking about those 200 million Fire TV Sticks already on the market, the hundreds of millions of users who have a TV with HDMI will also be able to access the Xbox with little.
