Apple would prepare 3 video game controllers, which would connect to the iPhone or iPad.
The history of Apple and video games is not new, since the Apple company wanted to enter this marketfiling new patents as the console similar to the iPhone but with two notches.
Today we have another novelty in this regard, since Apple filed 3 new patents, although now controls for video games. These drivers would have different styles, but would be installed externally on compatible iPhones and iPads.
The 3 orders that Apple would launch on the market
Patenty Apple showed the 3 new video game order records, released on March 10, 2022. EThese controls would be external, i.e. users could connect them to any Apple device via Bluetooth and would be compatible with most games on the App Store.
Apple’s first option is for a traditional video game controllerwith its 2 joysticks, D-Pad and action buttons, with a style very similar to that of the current Xbox controller.
Apple’s other option is to a controller very similar to Nintendo’s Joy-Con. These devices would sit alongside the iPhone and iPad and rival some products currently on the market as optional mobile controllers.
The last option would be an iPhone case, which would have as its main feature the buttons and the D-Pad to be used in video games. Patenty Apple mentioned that it would use MagSafe to make gaming sessions more comfortable.
As always, it’s worth mentioning that this is a patent, so we may never see an Apple game controller on the market, although with the recent leaks it looks like the company is getting focuses more and more on entering the world of video games and it’s only remains to wait if it will be with your own video game controller or with a console.
