Apple has surprised, for better and for worse, during this year 2022. What have been all the surprises they have in store?
This year has been special for Apple, for better and for worse.. The year was marked by good decisions, uncertain futures with the manufacture of devices and many surprises.
For this reason We want to leave you with a summary of some surprises that Apple has reserved for us this year, both good and bad. Let’s recap together all that the bitten apple has shown in this year 2023.
The purple that never was purple
Let’s start with one of those very curious surprises. Samsung, Apple’s big competitor, had a great idea regarding the design of its flagship Galaxy Z Flip 4: the very striking purple color. As always in the market, Apple had announced a new color for its new iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max: purple
It seemed like another triumph for those in Cupertino, obviously inspired by their South Korean competitor. The surprise had come when the first mobile orders started appearing, since the color purple wasn’t really purpleas seen in the photos.
The influencer iJustine, in a video posted on his Twitter, had shown that the new color looked more like a bright gray than a purple. That is to say, it was a kind of hybrid between the traditional gray and a very subtle purple. What a surprise they gave us.
I don’t know how in the world it’s purple. It looks a lot darker here than in the renders…a little d isappointed. It looks like a cross between purple and space gray. It’s quite dark. It’s not garish purple. It’s purple.
Your satellite security
What happens when you no longer have coverage? Many features, including some security features, were not available despite all attempts that might be made to communicate. But during the presentation event in September, Apple had reserved for us one of the best surprises of recent years: the emergency SOS by satellite.
This new feature uses the satellite communication of the iPhone 14 to be able to communicate with the emergency services in areas where coverage is zero. A great success without a doubt.
Dynamic Island, the biggest surprise of the year
Since the beginning of the year, it was rumored that Apple would remove the Notch from the iPhone. At the launch event in September, Apple had announced the extinction (at least in the Pro models) of the notchgiving way to one of Apple’s most interesting technologies: Dynamic Island.
Dynamic Island is a new interactive “but ton”, which takes advantage of the space of the front lens
Until now, none of the smartphone manufacturers had thought of turning this area into an interactive feature. This is certainly a cool feature designed to reuse “dead” space in new mobiles.
Farewell USB-C
Apple’s philosophy has always been to “think different”. This even included the charging ports of their mobiles, because instead of going the way of all manufacturers (USB-C), their own port called Lightning had been created, a multipurpose space that was used for the battery, the headphones and the specialized equipment.
For years, Apple had resisted switching to USB-C, until the European Parliament all but forced Apple to do so. The EU has enacted a law requiring all cell phones, tablets and cameras to have a universal input, i.e. USB-C.
It looks like in the next few years we’ll finally see the iPhone with a USB-C input, following on from what we’ve seen in Macbooks before.
The European Parliament’s Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee has announced that it has reached an agreement to introduce legislation to make USB-C the common charging port on a large number of large electronic products. public by fall 2024.
As you see, Apple managed to surprise us a lot this year. Some of these surprises are very good and some not so good, but the bitten apple brand has laid the foundations for a new era of technology and we can begin to glimpse what the next year will bring.
