WhatsApp and privacy is not a regular phrase in one sentence, at least not in a constructive tone. And that from the average users of other programs, to influential characters in the technological world, there are many who confirm that the world's most widely used messaging tool is unsafe.

Options to protect your privacy on WhatsApp
WhatsApp has many options available for iOS and Android that must be activated by users based on the information they want to share.
1. Keep the verification in two steps: 2-step verification adds an extra layer of security by requiring your six-digit PIN when you reset and verify your WhatsApp account. This guarantee helps to protect others from accessing information when a SIM card or phone number is stolen or compromised.
Setting up 2-step verification is very easy and can be done by accessing the “Accounts” tab in WhatsApp configuration.
2.Enter your profile privacy: This feature has the ability to control which information is shared from the WhatsApp profile, being able to choose between all, others or contacts. Obviously, the possibility of choosing who we share photos with or other interest data reduces the likelihood of them falling into the wrong hands.
3. Access your group's privacy settings: The group's privacy fix was introduced late last year, as one of the platform's most anticipated updates, as it allows control over who can add to WhatsApp and thus avoids having to deal with group problems without asking for it.
This feature can be enabled from the app settings menu. Once there, you have to choose Account> Privacy> Groups and choose between one of the following: "All", "Contacts" or "External Contacts". “Contacts” means that only users in your address book can add to groups and “Contacts out” provide additional control over who among your contacts can add to the group.
4. Lock your WhatsApp with a touch ID or facial ID: WhatsApp enables its users to add an extra layer of security to their accounts with touch ID and iPhone face ID, and Android fingerprint. As with most bank applications, you can also decide whether you want WhatsApp to automatically shut it down when you close the app, or after numerous periods of inactivity.
