Add an iPhone widget to your Mac
Widgets are here to stay. Since its appearance on the iPhone, it was thought that its arrival on other devices like the Mac would be imminent.. Now it is possible to have them and match them to the way we have them on the iPhone. If you already have favorite widgets on your iPhone and want to have them on your Mac as well, follow these steps.
- Secondary click on the desktop and choose Edit Widgets
- Scroll down to see the different widgets
- If one of them is not from your Mac, you can differentiate it with a “From iPhone” caption placed at the top right of the window
- Drag it to the desired location on your desktop.
Scan any document on your iPhone and transfer it to your Mac
Inside the iPhone we have the Notes application which is useful for writing and saving any text. We also have the option to scan documents from here. Another option to look into is the Mail app if you are sending an email..
What’s interesting is that we can use Notes to scan a document and instantly transfer it to Mac.
- When sending an email in Mail from Mac, Right-click on an empty space and select the “Scan Documents” option
- The iPhone with the camera will open automatically to scan
- Capture the document then confirm on Save
- The scanned document will be automatically forwarded to the email you write
Share any file instantly with AirDrop
AirDrop is one of the best features we have at Apple. Send photos, videos and any type of file from iPhone to Mac and vice versa. Select files in any location and go to the iOS or macOS Share menu, tap AirDrop and choose the destination device.
The next time you send a file between devices, the system will automatically recognize that you are the one sending your files between devices by immediately showing you the destination device.
Share the same focus mode on iPhone and Mac
Have you ever created a new way to focus? You can share this same action between your devices since it is synchronized thanks to iCloud. On iPhone, go to Control Center and tap Focus Modes. Choose the one you prefer and it will be enabled in macOS.
Universal Clipboard makes it easy to copy and paste content between devices
This is one of Apple’s new cross-device features that can boost your productivity if you want to copy and paste content between iPhone and Mac (and vice versa).
For example, If you are editing a document on your Mac and want to add text that you have on your iPhoneenough with that copy this content on iPhone and Press the Paste button on your Mac. Apply with text, images, videos, or other types of content. Copied content will remain intact for a period of time or until new content is copied to either device.
