Apple’s iPad Pro brought surprises that not all users like
Apple presented two new iPad Pro models of 2024 with very interesting new features such as the implementation of technology OLED with two panels in tandem, finished with nanotextured glass, an ultra-thin design and, of course, the powerful M4 chip from Apple Silicon. Without a doubt, the iPad Pro will be a game changer.
However, unfortunately, Not all news is a pleasant surprise.. Some of the features expected on the 2024 iPad Pro have disappeared. Moreover, some of them were available on the iPad Pro 2022.
The new iPad Pro only has one camera
Contrary to what everyone expected, the latest generation iPad Pro only has a rear camera. Apple removed the 10-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and integrated a single 12-megapixel wide-angle camera.
Apple hasn’t explained why it removed the camera from the new model, but the decision was likely made because the iPad isn’t really a photography-focused device. And this seems to us to be a success, a dual camera like the iPad Pro 2022 with M2 chip was not necessary.
In addition, Apple took the opportunity to include a True Tone Adaptive Flash to scan documents in better lighting, a very useful function on an iPad.
5G mmWave connectivity is gone
Previous generation iPad Pro models compatible with 5G cellular data supported mmWave technology. But this version of 5G connectivity is no longer available on the iPad Pro with the M4 chip. This feature is present in the latest iPhone models…for now.
iPad Pro no longer supports Apple Pencil 2
If you own an Apple Pencil 2, you may not be interested in purchasing the new iPad Pro. It no longer supports this accessory. If you’re going for the new iPad, you might be better off selling the Apple Pencil 2 and buying an Apple Pencil Pro, which has plenty of new features by the way.
He has no more battery
The use of OLED technology has allowed Apple to further reduce the thickness of its iPad Pro, which is much thinner. It’s ultra thin. Apple decided to opt for this redesign instead of integrating a larger capacity batteryhas an autonomy of 10 hours of Internet browsing, the same as that of the previous generation.
Apple didn’t include wireless charging, MagSafe charging, or more ports
Some iPad Pro 2024 rumors suggested Apple was planning to introduce a wireless charging system with MagSafe support and even a new 4-pin Smart Connector. In the end, it wasn’t like that. More ports have also not been implemented, which could be very handy in future versions.
These are all the new features that no one expected to miss in the iPad Pro 2024. But it’s still an engineering masterpiece with stunning design and absolutely spectacular performance.
