Over time, cell phones have increased their specifications and technical features, to the point of having the latest generation processors or cameras fighting for DSLR.
However, there is a section where calls are still active. It's about maintenance. Although it is true that the times were left when the smartphones had 8 or 16 GB of memory, –these days 64 GB is standard-, and it's true that we users use additional multimedia content without forgetting that the apps we install are live.
Therefore, the following question is what we are asking ourselves: Is 64 GB of storage sufficient for the full 2020?
How much storage memory should you have?
Most phones end up with their basic version, which is much cheaper, coming with a 64 GB storage capacity. The statistic is that as we mentioned before, it's a far cry from 8 or 16 GB of recent times but it also seems to be it is not enough for a large segment of consumers.
Current smartphones mean the end of MicroSD cards. Your designs are elegant and minimal it has caused firms to ignore this feature – in addition to causing drag on device performance. To a great extent, the proliferation of cloud services such as Dropbox, Google Drive or iCloud has resulted in more users being targeted in the cloud.
Despite it all, 64 GB of storage is a nightmare for many. Unfortunately these products believe that GB should have a gold price. Just look at the example, the new Apple iPhone 11 Pro. Its 64 GB base version costs 1,159 euros; 256 GB, 1,329 euros and 512 GB, 1,559 euros (with the exception of mid-128 GB).
So, as other terminals definition gets better, we should want 128 GB of storage to be the minimum a smartphone should have. It is not only the installation of many heavy programs, but also the sheer size of the photos and videos we store. If brands focus so much on their quality cameras, why are they selling us 64GB phones? The answer is clear. Need more storage? Pay for cloud service or pay for a phone with more memory.
And you, what do you think? Is 64 GB of storage sufficient?
