The wireless charging base Air power Apple is arguably the firm’s biggest failure over the past decade. But we are not talking about a failure in the market due to hardware problems or sky-high prices, no, no, we are talking about a failure in the middle of the development process. Which makes the failure even more resounding.
Apple introduced its AirPower base in 2017 with the launch of the new iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X smartphone models. This wireless charging base was designed to charge the battery of multiple devices at the same time, especially products iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods.
The development of the AirPower charging station was gradually delayed, and ultimately the project was canceled due to hardware development issues. Apparently the product “did not meet the high standards” of the company and suffered from severe overheating issues.
Apple has taken over the AirPower project and its launch could be imminent
A video was recently leaked – posted by Giulio Zompetti – in which we see footage of a possible prototype of the AirPower charging base In full operation. The video was posted on Twitter and we shared it through Macrumors.

Therefore, it is very likely that the AirPower project is not dead and that Apple will launch it in the market at the end of this 2021, when it presents its new models of the iPhone 13 range. In the video we can see the matte black charging base with gold edges when charging an iPhone battery. There is also a curious animation that appears on the screen when the phone starts to charge.
