More clues are coming in on the plans Apple might have for future generations of Apple Watch. And the same thing can happen that they did with the iPhone: see a “Apple Watch Series X” in 2024.
Several media have discovered this index in a recent report by analyst David Hsieh, of the company Omdia. There are even some specs of this watch: it’s said to have larger 1.89 and 2.04-inch screens, although that’s to subtract the curvature of the rounded edges.
The end of the linear evolution of the Apple Watch
The source then outlines the plans for the next two years: we would have an Apple Watch Series 9 in September 2023, along with the iPhone 15. And in 2024 we would have this “Apple Watch Series X” with larger screens. And who knows, maybe a new design. What we do not talk about are the possible new sensors that this could bring.
In 2024, we would also see something else: the third generation of the Apple Watch SE. This hypothetical model, according to the source, would adopt the screen sizes of the current Apple Watch Series 8 but in a cheaper model. The design, to save money in production, would be kept in this case.
We’ll see what happens, but the drums are starting to ring for some interesting changes to the Apple Watch. Maybe not this year, but evolution might stop linear from next year (courtesy Apple Watch Ultra). We’ll uncover more clues as the leaks continue to emerge.
