There appears to be a hidden feature in iOS 18 that will let you know when the iPhone fails to charge.
For several weeks now, iPhone users have had iOS 18 available for download with exciting new features in many sections. iOS 18 is the most customizable operating system Apple has ever released, an incredible new Control Center and it’s the first with Apple Intelligence, but there’s more to come. Apparently there is a hidden feature of iOS 18 I will let you know How long does it take for iPhone to be fully charged?a feature that could be activated at any time.
As you may have known 9to5mac, the iOS 18 code hides a function that will allow users to know the remaining charging time until reaching 100%, they could even receive a notification when a certain battery percentage is reached. The new feature is not yet activated, but traces have been found in the iOS 18.2 beta 2 code.
A new framework called “BatteryIntelligence” will calculate the estimated time to charge the phone, likely based on the amount of power the device receives. Users will have the option to receive a notification with an estimate of how long it will take to reach 80%, for example.
iOS 18 will include a feature I’ve been waiting for years
This is a feature I’ve wanted to have on the iPhone for a long time. We know that iPhones include fast charging which allows you to have around 50% battery in 30 minutes. But We rarely talk about the total charging timewhich can be influenced by many factors.
Depending on the charger used, the iPhone model or even the applications running on iPhone while charging, total loading time may vary. It is true that there is a shortcut that allows you to know how long it will take the iPhone to charge to 100%, but it does it in a somewhat more rudimentary way than if it were an implemented function directly in iOS.
At the moment the feature is still disabled, which suggests that Apple is still working on it. Therefore, we don’t know if this is something that will be implemented in the short term on the iPhone or if it will eventually be discontinued. Apple has never officially talked about this feature and it is not part of the official new features of iOS 18.
Apple offers several interesting features related to iPhone charging, such as the ability to limit load at 80%, 85%, 90%, 95% or 100%. We also have to optimized loadingwhich you will learn from our uses to charge iPhone only up to 80% and finish charging before you start using it. Without forgetting that the iPhone will also warn us if we are using a slow charger.
To all these functions linked to charging, another could soon be added. In iOS 18 we have some really great tricks, but this one would definitely be one of my favorites. Knowing when the iPhone has left to be fully charged is really useful information that many users want to know.
