A plastic Apple Watch, are you kidding me?

As markets plummet and Apple shares lose 4% of their value today, the latest idea from the Cupertino company is to re-release a success like the iPhone 5c, one of the most popular devices in the world.

Apple’s cuts reach the Watch SE, which will be made of plastic instead of aluminum.

Some analysts suggest that this is a kind of “remake” of the iPhone 5c to remember better times, but it is nothing more than another explosion after removing the power adapter from the box or selling the 20 euro cloth.

As Mark Gurman predicted in his newsletter, The aluminum of the Apple Watch SE would be replaced by a rigid plastic, which would not only make the device cheaper to manufacture, but would also significantly reduce its weight and come in a very extravagant new range of colours.

In theory, This new Apple Watch SE would inherit the S9 processor from the Apple Watch Series 9, which would significantly improve performance over the previous model but nothing else.

As per usual, Using plastic instead of aluminum is not expected to lead to a reduction in prices,

nor even less the renewal of its functionalities, which would remain unchanged compared to the current version, beyond its weight loss.

The Apple Watch SE has only been on the market for four years, since the last version arrived in 2020 with the Apple Watch Series 6. Among other functions, it lacks an electrocardiogram or an Always-On display, which, honestly, are not features requested by the majority of users.
