In today’s market you can find many optical pencils of different prices and brands, but there is no doubt that there are two that have always made the difference: on the one hand, there is the Apple Pencil of the brand based in Cupertino and on the other we have the S Pen used by Samsung devices. Both are always rivals to beat and that is why it is interesting to know which of them is the best.
For this verdict to be fair, there is no other way than to try them both and decide which one I prefer. And, to be honest, the decision was easier than expected, but that’s still a completely personal opinion.
Feelings are essential
When we use a stylus, we drag the cadence of all the times we used a pen or pencil and this rubbing what it feels like when we write on paper, as well as the pressure memory we automate.
Using the S-Pen provides the user a similar feelingit’s not exact, but it’s similar, allowing you to feel very comfortable with the Samsung Pen from the start. In this sense, the work of Wacoma company partnered with Samsung to make the S-Pen, was essential.

The same thing doesn’t happen with the Apple Pencil. It seems to slide across the screen and that we don’t really write in the same way, but rather that we mark, which gives even in the handwritten notes the feeling that we are changing our way of writing.

Compatibility is important
Being able to take notes on your Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra with the S-Pen and also use it on a Galaxy Tab is a great advantage.
It is true that the S24 Ultra stylus cannot be used on a Galaxy Z Fold6, but there is the S-Pen Proa stylus configurable to work with a foldable cell phone, tablet or the larger S24, for example.

Some users may not find this version of the S-Pen really cheap, but the value of a device may be more justified. stylus when working for multiple devices.
The interface accompanies the S-Pen
Las Apple Notes and other apps work great with Apple Pencil on the iPad, but Samsung goes further and integrates the S-Pen more directly into the interface of its devices.
There are some additions that are really good, like the ability to write directly in my Calendar appwhich makes it much easier to mark important dates by circling or crossing them out.
You also have the option of taking a note on the lock screen from the mobile quickly, you can make a screenshot and write there, you can use the button it has so that make a remote control to take a selfie if your phone is far away and even allows you to use the functions Air actionwhich are movements you make with the pencil to perform certain actions.
S-Pen is included
It should be remembered that many Samsung devices come with the S-Pen, such as the latest tablets S Ultra or Galaxy Tab S.
It is true that the S-Pen Pro, which allows you to write on a Galaxy Z Fold6, is sold separately, but on Apple’s side it’s always an optionalthough iPads are touted as ideal tablets for using said pencil. Something true, I’m not going to deny it.
Ultimately, the reasons to have an S-Pen are in my opinion bigger and more important compared to those of the Apple Pencil. As usual, everything will depend on the device you are using, since they are not compatible with each other. Even so, that’s another topic for another day, today I just wanted to tell you my reasons for preferring the pencil from the South Korean brand instead of the one with the bitten apple.
