One of the iPhone specials that some Android users are most jealous of is Airdrop, a tool that lets you send photos or files between nearby Apple products. Today there is no official Google official release, though we know the company is working on something that can be installed on Android.
In July of last year we were able to get to know the first details of Fast Share, a feature many are expecting and a little bit that seems to be a little too close to getting comfortable. At XDA Developers have been able to access Google-optimized functionality and recently it looks like they've changed their name.
Nearby Sharing, this will be the name of «Airdrop for Android»
The ability to send files without having to rely on the Internet is a common one we are doing wrong. When someone has a few meters ask us to send a file or image that we usually copy and send it via WhatsApp, mail, Telegraph, WeTransfer or some other cloud.
These types of alternatives do not work., because what you are doing is sending our file to a remote server, which causes us to waste data to upload and the recipient must use the data to download it. Yes, you can send it via Bluetooth, or use a computer and cable to transfer it. But we are in 2020 and these are not forms.
Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo announce a file-sharing system similar to AirDrop
Three of the world's leading manufacturers, Xiaomi, OPPO and Vivo, have announced a file-sharing system similar to AirDrop.
Brands like Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo have already made their own Airdrop for Android under Peer to Peer Alliance and Google has been working on a similar solution called Fast Share. This function seems to be finally called Nearby Sharing.
They mentioned this in XDA Developers, where they had access to the Google Play Department version v20.1.03. Nearby sharing seems to allow two users to share files for up to 30 centimeters. Its functionality is as simple as Bluetooth communication, and when loved by two send information over Wi-Fi Direct, the fastest technology
The advantage of this feature is that the availability within Google Play Services is that it will most likely reach almost any mobile device, without having to wait for any system update, to be able to skip the cracks, although it can also make it work from a smaller version of Android.
A better alternative than Airdrop for Android
If you want to export files from or to your Android wireless phone, as is the case with AirDrop, Snapdrop is presented as the best option in this case.
