Samsung has released a new version of One UI, its own version of the Android operating system (or custom layer), every year, starting in 2018 with the arrival of One UI 1, based on Android 9 “Pie”, and 2024 should not be the exception. This year, the new version of One UI will be based on Android 15the next major update to Google’s operating system.

There’s still no official list of which Samsung Galaxy devices will receive the next version of One UI (and Android), but many models are getting this basically guaranteed update.
Nearly 50 Samsung Galaxy devices are guaranteed to receive One UI 7 (Android 15)
In early 2022, Samsung announced that its devices would receive four years of Android updates and five years of security updates. This applied to the majority of mobile phones and tablets arriving from 2021 onwards, and even surpassed Google in terms of updates, at least at the time.
In 2023, Google announced 7 years of updates for its Pixel, and Samsung wasn’t far behind: shortly after, with the arrival of the new Galaxy S24, the Korean company promised 7 years of updates for this family of mobile phones, and many other future models.
Taking this into account, we can estimate that many Samsung Galaxy arriving on the market from 2021 will receive Android 15. For example, the Galaxy S21 family of mobile phones, arriving in 2021 with the Android 11 version, should receive the next operating system update that will arrive at the end of this year. The list of devices expected to receive Android 15 and One UI 7 includes several foldable models (from the Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3), several models from the Galaxy A line and even several Galaxy F and Galaxy M. It’s still unclear what new features this version of Samsung’s custom cape will include.
