The fog that hid the horizon of the update to Android 13 dissipates: Samsung has given an official list with all the mobiles that will receive this version system alongside the expected One UI 5. Currently in South Korea; although it can be extrapolated to the rest of the markets where the manufacturer distributes its smartphones, including Europe.
It’s been a sea of months since Google unveiled the final version of Android 13 and it’s still resisting reaching the majority of mobile catalogs. Some brands have updated their latest models, others, like Samsung, they have a pretty busy beta process. And not just betas, since the South Korean brand already has its official update schedule ready. Android 13 and One UI 5 are on their way to a large number of devices.
From the premium range to the lowest range
Samsung is one of the manufacturers who put the most effort into the difficult task of updating devices with some time in the market. Generally, the company offers four years of key system upgrades, those that Google releases every year (Samsung even surpasses Google with its Pixels); with five years of security updates. And as the movement is demonstrated by walking, the first calendar with the dates of Android 13 is already official.
Samsung usually starts updates from its home country, and a bit later, distribute them to the rest of the markets, including Europe. Therefore, and despite the fact that the calendar we have known is official from Samsung Korea (via SamMobile), the mobiles should not change, nor will the dates vary excessively. Even so, and while we don’t have European confirmation, we have to take the update schedule with some caution.
Below we detail all the mobiles that will officially update to Android 13 with One UI 5 as a layer version. Remember that the dates are part of the South Korea rollout, there may be some delay in expanding to the rest of the markets.
October 2022
November 2022
December 2022
January 2023
February 2023
Much of the catalog will be updated in about four months, at least according to the current schedule. Samsung will surely continue to bring the latest version of the system and the layer to more phones, we will have to wait for it to present a new date schedule.
