All the data and procedures that you can consult from your mobile with the My Citizen Folder application

application, Citizen, consult, data, folder, mobile, Procedures

In order to every time we do more procedures with the public administration from the mobile, the Spanish government this week launched the My Citizen Folder application. A tool available on Android’s Google Play (also in the iOS App Store) and which allows access to a lot of information and procedures that have been carried out from different applications or that could not be obtained directly from the cellphone.

Throughout this article, we will see everything the app offers. It is expected that updates will come in the future that introduce other features. Performance-wise, at least in these early versions, it works pretty well on any mobile device.

How to access the My Citizen Folder app

Access the My Citizen Folder application

First of all, once the application is downloaded, proceed to identify yourself with Cl@ve, Cl@ve Permanent or Electronic Certificate. These are the typical accesses that the administration has in other official web applications and portals. If you don’t have any, you will need to register somewhere to do it.

Needless to say, once registered, you can quickly access with your fingerprint if you wish it. In this way you will not have to continually resort to the connection, in addition to protecting our data if we lend the mobile to another person.

Ideal for not forgetting to renew the documents

One of the most interesting sections of My Citizen Folder is purely informative, but of great value. It is a calendar of important events for the administration. As the driver’s license or ID expiry dates.

This calendar appears in the app’s home tab, although if you click View all or go to the tab Calendaryou can access a complete view of all important dates. These appear ordered in a list, and you can also view them by swiping between calendar months.

Something to note also in this section is the possibility to make an appointment from the application for the renewal of documents such as the DNI. This isn’t really done from the app itself, but from the Cita Previa website, but since the app has a built-in browser, it can be done without leaving that space.

School diplomas, driving license points and many other data

Citizen Folder app

If there’s anything this app stands out for, it’s because of the amount of user information it offers. Not in vain, the name My Citizen Folder was chosen for a reason. Precisely on the tab My file you can find the following information.

Web access to many procedures, at least for now

Browser Application Citizen Folder

As we have already mentioned talking about sections such as the appointment request to open the DNI, the My Citizen Folder application redirects to a web portal in some cases. It’s not necessarily something negative, since everything is without leaving the application, but it’s not really something integrated one hundred percent.

However, acting in some way as a information agglutinator with useful links in the end it’s easier than navigating between administration sites. And even more, let’s not deny it, some are very unintuitive.

Alerts and other additional settings

Citizen Folder app options

In the section Settings, you can find different options apart from what we have seen in this post. Starting with the possibility send suggestions regarding the operation of the application. Entering it opens a form that asks specific questions about the experience in the app at different times, as well as other questions with broader answers in which to expand.

In addition to being able to read the application’s legal and privacy notices or being able to add a photo to your profile, what is interesting comes from the possibility of enable notifications. Be it push notifications from the app itself or email notifications, you need to enable notification permission for the app in the first case and enter your email account for the second.
