You’ve been disconnected from the news all summer, you’ve wanted to get away from screens (something very healthy and recommended) while you were on vacation… and suddenly Apple leaves and confirms an event to showcase the iPhone 14 for September 7. Come on, normal that you suddenly started looking for rumors in a hurry.
But you don’t need to look any further: I’ll summarize everything we hope to see in this event, what is more certain and what is already only a probability. We’re going to see a lot of new things, but we have to get our feet on the ground and be clear about what to expect.
With or without surprise, we are faced with the opening speech the most important of 2022
First, what we have clear: we will see the iPhone 14 and the Apple Watch Series 8 with almost total security. It would be extremely rare if not, they will be at the center of the event and the reason why we will also see a summary of the main novelties of iOS 16. From iPhone 14 we will see the new sizes screen and its panel always as main news , while in the case of the Apple Watch Series 8 we will see the arrival of a new “Pro” model.
What is likely but can no longer be taken for granted is the arrival of the AirPods Pro 2. Rumors have been circulating for many months, and Apple is already preparing the Bluetooth 5.2 standard in anticipation of offering this audio.
Could we see anything else? Let’s take a look at what’s been showcased besides the new iPhone and Apple Watch at past equivalent Apple events:
- In September 2021, we saw the new 9th generation iPad and the current iPad mini with the new design.
- In September 2020, we saw the first Apple Watch SE, the fourth-generation iPad Air, and the eighth-generation iPad.
- In September 2019 we saw the seventh generation iPad.
Looking at the keynotes from last September, we can perhaps expect a new iPad
Perhaps we can also count on the arrival of a 10th generation iPad, that is precisely what the rumors are saying lately. It would have a new design and adopt the USB-C port if we trust these rumors, we will have to see if this ends up being true.
How about accessories? It’s not sure either, but there are rumors of new HomePods and this event might be a good date to launch them. Apple should give this range of speakers a good boost after the success of the HomePod mini on the original model.
What’s Least Likely To Appear Are New Macs. We may see news in some services, but Apple usually reserves news from its computers for a future event in October or November. It’ll be there when we might see a Mac mini M2, maybe a big-screen iMac, or a refresh for the Mac Studio. Talking about the Mac Pro might already be too optimistic. The iPad Pro with M2 chip would also be reserved for this event since iPadOS 16 has already been officially delayed.
