Samsung is one of the brands that updates the most mobile phones in Europe to Android 11, and beyond the Android version, it continues to improve its mobiles with the new features of the One UI personalization layer.
When the South Korean manufacturer started updating their phones to Android 11, they did so under the One UI 3.0 version, while the Galaxy S21, S21 + and S21 Ultra arrived with One UI 3.1. While this version continues to take the same version of Android, it does include specific information that several Samsung phones are now receiving.
Samsung begins massive rollout of One UI 3.1
One UI 3.1 began its rollout shortly after the Galaxy S21 launched. The Galaxy Tab S7 was the first to receive these enhancements with its update to Android 11, shortly after it started rolling out in the Galaxy S20 FE, and now comes by surprise on several business phones. Samsung has indicated that from today a large number of models, with a date that may vary depending on the region and operators. Specifically, the update achieves:
- Galaxy S20, S20 + and S20 Ultra.
- Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra.
- Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Z Flip.
- Galaxy Fold.
- Galaxy S10 Lite, S10e, S10, S10 +.
- Galaxy Note 10 Lite, 10, 10+.
- Galaxy A90, A80, A71, A70, A51, A50.
Personalization layer enhancements
The first improvement concerns the photo mode called Single Shot. This mode is capable of capturing all kinds of images and videos for up to 15 seconds and receives improvements with One UI 3.1, although Samsung hasn’t specified much what they are.
In photography we also get the function of erasing people and objects from the photos that we have already seen in the Galaxy S21.
The camera app also receives improved controls for autofocus and exposure controls, as well as a better professional video recording mode. If with One UI 2.5 Samsung has already introduced the possibility of recording with external microphones, we can now record the sound of our Bluetooth device and that captured by the mobile microphones at the same time, being one more tool for your creativity when the record.
One of my favorite Galaxy S21 features comes with One UI 3.1, which is the Adaptive Eye Protector. This is a smarter implementation of the well-known blue light filter, but it dynamically adapts depending on the time of day. It is very intelligent, less abrupt and now available for many mobiles.
With One UI 3.1, we also benefit from a private sharing mode. This mode is used so that when we share a photo, One UI removes its metadata and location information so that no one can get data from that image.
Although Samsung has not specified it, it is expected that with One UI 3.1 you will receive the native controls of the home automation of Android 11, as well as Google Discover on the home screen, a feature that we will not be able to. not know if it is until it is deployed to mobile phones.
