However, the story that has been repeating itself for years may soon end with the launch of an Apple TV with a built-in camera for FaceTime and other video calling apps.
The news shared in the Power On section, by the reliable Mark Gurman, ensures that Apple TV with camera would support “gesture-based controls”. This new This would mean a more efficient way to take advantage of updates released in OS 17, macOS Sonoma and tvOS 17which allow hand gestures during video calls in the FaceTime app and other video calling apps to fill the screen with 3D effects.
The next Apple TV could have a built-in camera
With the development of other technologies, Apple might be ready to offer a device that makes a lot more sense when it comes to taking advantage of the company’s ecosystem. Thus, Gurman also argued that The revamped Apple TV will work seamlessly with iPhone and Vision Pro.
Apple introduced the option Continuity camera that allows you to use FaceTime in video on Apple TV, last year with the release of tvOS 17. Currently, this can be used on at least second-generation 4K TVs with tvOS 17 or newer. And unlike what would be possible with the device, the current process requires an iPhone or iPad.
The analyst did not share more details about the future Apple TV+, but in the same publication he referred a possible new device linked to the smart home segment:
