Did you think the Apple Watch Ultra was the biggest thing? Well, you’re going to have to rethink your limits, as analyst Jeff Pu reckons we haven’t seen how far we can see this device grow on our wrist yet.
Pu claims that Apple is already working on a new model of its smartwatch with a 2.1 inch screen, almost 0.2 inches larger than the current Apple Watch Ultra. The difference seems small, but in clock terms it’s a leap.
An “even more difficult” for the Apple Watch
The report in which this data is revealed was recently leaked to MacRumors. Said 2.1-inch screen would be of the mini-LED type, which would be a rarity since until now all the rumors indicated a switch from Apple to OLED panels.
Another question worth asking is: what model of watch would that be? Are we seeing the first hints of an Apple Watch Ultra 2? This could be the case, and the current size could then become that of the standard Apple Watch if manufacturing costs allow it.
The source estimates that we could see the Apple Watch with this giant screen in 2024, so it will still be at least a year before we know the in-depth details. Meanwhile, yours truly looks at his little wrist and pleads that small screens don’t end up disappearing.
