This week we received in Europe the first Developer preview Android 12, a development version that is expected to arrive in stable form by the end of the summer on Pixel devices and soon after on the rest of compatible Android phones.
While we have already started to see the first brushstrokes of this release during our testing, there is still a lot to reveal in features that are not yet present or are still in development, such as a new customization engine.
Android 12 hides a dynamic theme that changes the color of the system
Although we have already started testing some of the new features in Android 12, there are some features that are not yet implemented in this premiere. Developer preview. Among these features is an advanced customization engine, which was unveiled by kdrag0n, known developer for ProtonAOSP ROM on Pixel mobiles.
I managed to get the new wallpaper based theme system Monet running on Android 12 DP1. Here are some examples of predominantly purple and orange wallpapers: pic.twitter.com/jXHvWq7K81

Said developer has found a feature in the code that dynamically changes the color scheme of the system. To do this, take into account the color theme of the wallpaper. Depending on the wallpaper we choose, this function analyzes the wallpaper to choose the predominant wallpaper colors and change the color of the system menus.
The way this feature works is similar to Theme Park, Samsung’s Good Lock addon that allows us to create a color theme for the system based on our wallpaper, a feature that is one of my personal favorites from One. UI.
Will this design feature arrive with Android 12? While it’s in the Android code itself, we might think, this kind of customization features sometimes takes a long time to officially reach most mobiles, as drastic design changes usually have to take place. Failure, and Google prefers to roll them out to everyone when they work well, so it may not be ready for the final version.
