Google does not stop and faces the final straight with Android 15 beta 4.1which, although it has few changes and many fixes, traces the exit ramp, getting closer to the public deployment. These are the new features of the new beta version of Android 15 that you can install right now.
Android 15 Beta 4.1, a version to refine the formula and prepare for the launch
The search engine company has long accustomed us to testing previous versions of Android. This year, since last February, users who wish to do so have been testing the system that will reach us very soon in a stable form. First, how Developer Overview then in beta version.
Some of these beta versions have undergone more or less modifications, uncovering many features that will be in the final version. As Android Authority reports and we were able to verify, a small revision is coming that paves the way for the Pixel 9, which will ship with Android 15 out of the box.
It was on Reddit that the American firm shared a post to announce the new beta update, Android 15 Beta 4.1 for Pixel devices enrolled in the Android Beta Program. For now – no further changes are expected – all sixth-generation Pixels and above remain compatible.
Looking at the changelog you can see some changesso this is a minor update. Obvious though: at this point, Google should only be concerned with tweaking the way the system works, leaving it error-free.
What problems are solved? Those related to audio blocks during calls on Google mobiles. And we don’t expect many more soon. In fact, we could be facing the final beta version. August 13th is marked on our calendar to meet the Pixel 9 which would come with Android 15 pre-installed.
This latest update corresponds to build number AP31.240617.010 and accompanies the latest security patch: July 2024. In the notes attached to the beta update, you can read the audio fixes in calls, yes, others insects identified during beta 4 are still in this one.
To update, follow the usual procedure: an Over-the-Air (OTA) update will reach compatible Pixels. It’s as simple as going to “Settings” > “System” > “Software Update” > “System Update.” If it doesn’t appear right away, tap “Check for Updates.”
We don’t know for sure when the public stable version. However, the rapprochement between betas 4 and 4.1, and given that the latter is a small bug fix, should not be too long in coming. We are looking forward to definitively testing the system that will be the starting point for the new mobile phones from the Mountain View firm.
