Punctual as clockwork, Google has just released stable Android Auto 11.3, exactly one week after Android Auto 11.3 beta and exactly two weeks after the latest Android Auto 11.2. Like always, We tested Android Auto 11.3 in search of new features and surprisingly on this occasion we found one quite clear: message summaries with AI appeared, something that we already knew was on the way and that Samsung announced as part of the Galaxy AI package, but which also reaches those who own other phone brands.

Android Auto is updated literally every week and it is not always possible to notice that something has changed. On this occasion, it was not necessary to go too far to see differences, since in the Android Auto settings an option already appeared that did not exist before: Read AI-generated message summaries.
As its name suggests, this new feature implies that the Assistant is responsible for doing a summary of pending messages in a conversation, instead of reading them all one by one. This is a very good idea because if you have many messages waiting, asking Assistant to read them all one by one, in addition to being able to distract you, it will probably be difficult for you to follow the thread.
As is often the case with this type of AI function, during our tests, the Assistant there was a bit of a mess with the languages and he told us a text in Spanish with English pronunciation explaining that he would summarize a series of messages for us after playing. Read aloud in the notification.
To test it, I sent a tirade of messages telling a story and the wizard’s summary was pretty good, but in English. Unfortunately, this is going to be the trend to follow in AI functions and we can only cross our fingers that it works just as well in Spanish and without messing up the languages.

For the rest, we do not find any other changes in Android Auto 11.3, although some are expected to be included internal error correction required. Google, for its part, has not updated the list of known Android Auto errors.
