Android Auto updated to version 11.5 stably, so anyone can install it even if it’s not part of the elusive beta program. The Android Auto 11.5 beta was official just a week ago and the previous stable version, Android Auto 11.4, arrived exactly two weeks ago and without a beta.
Android Auto 11.5 brings to all users the icon changes it has prepared for certain versions. With them, applications appear that can only be used when the car is stationary highlighted with a new P icon parking, whereas in the past they did it with the icon of a car.
You can now download Android Auto 11.5
Once again, it’s time to update Android Auto, especially if you’re not part of the beta program on Google Play. As usual, Google hasn’t updated the Android Auto 11.5 changelog, so we have tested for new features.
Android Auto 11.5 stable remains the same as Android Auto 11.5 beta, so the only visible change we found is the insignia of the P on app icons that can only be opened when the car is not moving: GameSnacks mini-games and Personalizewhich opens the Android Auto settings on the mobile.
This change builds on the icon change introduced at the end of last year, which takes advantage of the system’s adaptive icons to make them take the same shape as we have on mobile, instead of always being rounds. Furthermore, we have the side effect that the calendar icon displays today’s date
For the rest, Google is enabling summaries of pending messages with AI, although this does not appear to be widespread and is not exclusive to a specific Android Auto update. Hopefully Android Auto 11.5 will also include the necessary items bug fixes
Android Auto 11.5 is already distributed through Google Play, so it is possible that it has already been updated on your mobile. The new version is version 11.5.6410 and Here are the steps to follow to update:
- First, check which version of Android Auto you already have, as it may have been updated without your knowledge.
- If you still don’t have Android Auto 11.5, open Google Play and tap your profile picture, then choose Manage apps and devices. Then press Update all.
- If you still don’t see the update, visit the Android Auto 11.5 page on APKMirror and download the file to your mobile.
- Open the file (it will open with the package installer) and press Update when asked.
