Once again, we start the week with a new version of Android Auto. Android Auto beta 12.5, released just over a week ago, is now ready to make its stable debut. So, everyone can easily update from google playwithout having to download the APK or try to get into a beta program that has been complete for years.
You can now download Android Auto 12.5 stable and, as always, we’ve been testing the update extensively to try and find new features that are normally somewhat elusive.
Update now to Android Auto 12.5
The stable version of Android Auto 12.5 is here, something we learned a little over a week ago when it was distributed in beta. We tested Android Auto 12.5 looking for new features, since we already know that Android Auto is constantly updated and does not always include visible changes.
We are again faced with a case in which we have not seen no visible change neither in Android Auto settings nor in the car. Neither in the icons nor in the use of the app nor in important apps like Google Maps for Android Auto.
Again, Google insists that this update includes “bug fixes and other improvements“, which seems to be the case even though the list of known bugs maintained by Google does not indicate which bugs have been fixed. A good technique you can do is this: if you have problems with Android Auto, make sure to update, in case the problem is fixed. Otherwise, nothing happens.
It’s not a change from Android Auto, but it is. Google Maps for Android Auto the fact that it started showing the button to report incidents while driving. Now, this incident button in Google Maps for Android Auto is only shown in some countries, so it may not appear for you either (it personally does not appear for me yet).
Android Auto 12.5 is already distributed via Google Play, so it is possible that it has already been updated on your mobile. The new version is version 12.5.6430 and Here are the steps to follow to update:
- First, check which version of Android Auto you already have, as it may have been updated without your knowledge.
- If you still don’t have Android Auto 12.5, open Google Play and tap on your profile picture, then choose Manage apps and devices. Then press Update everything.
- If you still don’t see the update, visit the Android Auto 12.5 page on APKMirror and download the file to your mobile.
- Open the file (it will open with the package installer) and press Update when asked.
