So far the only two navigation apps available for cars with Android Auto It was Google Maps and Waze, but since the end of last year that has started to change. In December, the launch of the beta versions of the third-party app began, which allows you to use Sygic in Android Auto.
From now on, that changes. Android Auto takes a new step in its history and from today developers can publish their navigation, parking and charging applications, without having to use the beta program of the Play Store.
More third-party apps on Android Auto
This is made possible by the launch of the new Android for Cars library which was released in the latest Jetpack update that arrived on our phones last March.
Most developers have migrated their applications to the new library to achieve the more than 500 vehicle models compatible with Android Auto. It only remains to wait for them to update the stable version of their navigation apps to support the Google car platform.
