Creating an error report isn’t complicated, but it does require enabling Android Auto developer options as well as mobile developer options, as Google explains. Simply put, it’s nonsense: what if You could do the same thing with a button?
And in fact, it is now possible. A little “trick” of Android Auto is that if we press and hold the clock in the system bar, an error report is generated. Of course, if the problem is that we have disconnections in the system and nothing is ever displayed in the car, it is of no use to us. For this it has just arrived a new button for Android Auto settings
His name is Generate a bug report and you will find it clearly visible in the Android Auto settings: at the top. This new menu appeared in the beta version of Android Auto 12.5, without the need to first enable the Android Auto developer options.
When you press it, it does exactly what it promises: an error report starts to be generatedthe progress of which you can follow from the notification that appears on your mobile. The process takes some time and Google recommends that you perform it shortly after the error or just before, so that it contains more useful information.
Once completed, you have a Bug report as ZIP file that you can share with Google so they can investigate the error. These bug reports may contain private information, so it’s best to share them via email and not publicly where anyone can download them.
