After spending his whole life using Android smartphones, he upgraded to the iPhone 16 Pro Max
Changing operating systems after a lifetime of using the other can be complex. Although we can transfer all our photos, chats and documents from Android to iPhone, they are different operating systems and devices. And here’s what one user did He has used Android smartphones all his life and that he bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max. This user left his experience on Reddit.
This is my first iPhone and I’ve been an Android user my whole life. I’m 30 years old. I’m a fan of Sony smartphones and design. My wife uses a MacBook Air, while I use a Surface Pro and also use Windows at work.
Advantages and disadvantages of switching from Android to iOS
Although in many ways iOS and Android work similarly, the truth is that there are many others that are different. and it is something that can only be analyzed by someone moving from one system to another. Here are the positives and negatives this Reddit user found when switching from Android to the iPhone 16 Pro Max:
Positive aspects:
- Customization: I was surprised (but not entirely, since I follow tech news) that I used the iPhone and didn’t miss Android. This could be due to the customization Apple has made to Android. I know that widgets, wallpapers, etc. are new.
- Battery: My iPhone 16 Pro Max is great. I barely charge it to 100%. In 3 weeks, I only fully charged it twice, in both cases I used it intensively: Google Maps, a radar application (I live in Europe), Spotify for more than 4 hours continuously , then I used the camera for another 3 hours, and yet it didn’t go below 20%.
- Screen: Satisfied (coming from a 4K screen) and 120 Hz is a nice plus.
- Heat: I’ve never had any heat problems. My last chip was the SD865, and even though it can run all applications, it still heats up with heavy games, which doesn’t happen with the A18 Pro.
- Design and feel: I don’t find it very big or wide, but overall it’s not bad. The glasses are great and I love the Dynamic Island feature. The exterior design is amazing, it reminds me of Sony in terms of premium quality.
- Camera: Nothing to complain about. I like the colors and the quality. Night photography is excellent.
Negative aspects: mainly on the software side.
- I can’t access notifications or dashboards from the center of the screen like on Android. This requires me to use both hands all the time. I hope Apple copies this feature. Additionally, back gestures only work in a few apps.
- Worst keyboard I’ve ever used. It doesn’t have a numeric keypad with letters, despite such a large screen. Autosuggestions are horrible.
- Selecting and copying is much more complicated than on Android.
- I can’t find transparent clocks with weather for free like on Android. Applications are limited and expensive. Apps like Widgy are too complicated.
These are interesting conclusions, from here we can only recommend some iPhone keyboard tricks to type numbers faster or teach you how to use Widgy to have, for example, the Mickey Mouse face of the Apple Watch on the ‘iPhone.
