iOS 18 Home Screen Arrives Loaded With New Features and Improvements That Improve Personalization
If you have certain versions of iOS, Apple has decided to completely renew the iPhone lock screen, with the arrival of iOS 18 the revolution comes to the home screen. For years this grid of applications has barely changed but now the customization possibilities are quite hard to believe, who would have told us some time ago that this would be possible on the iPhone.
The customization options offered by iOS 18 make it each user can have a completely unique home screen. Something that could more or less be done by changing iPhone app icons, but is now much quicker and simpler.
Place the icons where we want on the iPhone
From iPhone OS 1 to iOS 17, iPhone icons have always been organized from left to right and top to bottom. That is, if you only had one icon, it would be located in the upper left corner. If you had four icons, they were placed in the top row.
But starting with iOS 18, users can place icons anywhere on the screen leaving empty spaces between them. As long as they are in the four column by 6 row grid. You can now move the icon as always and place it wherever you want.
Easily resize widgets
The bone iOS 18 widgets can be redesigned directly from the Home screen without us having to enter them to edit and play in a new size. This makes resizing much quicker and easier, the bottom right corner is slightly thicker so we can drag it around and change the size.

We have also an option by holding down the widget which will turn it into the icon of its corresponding applicationThis works with some Apple apps like Clock or Weather.
Use larger icons without the name on iPhone
This customization option allows us to have slightly larger icons that also eliminate the app or game name. This makes the iPhone home screen look very different than we’ve ever had before. You’ve never been able to do something like this on the iPhone before.
Change the color of iPhone apps
Finally, we have the option to customize the color of the iPhone home screen icons. We have the possibility of put them in dark colorcan be activated alone, or the option dye them the color we like the most
- Press and hold the iPhone home screen.
- Tap Edit > Customize at the top left.
- Select the Tinted option.
- Choose color and intensity from the bars below.
- If you touch the icon in the right area, you can choose one of the wallpaper colors.
The customization of the home screen icons is quite aggressive, which can lead to real aberrations on the part of users. But those who complained about customization will no longer be able to do so pic.twitter.com/Wvl4gpgi6J

Apple ha completely renewed the home screen in iOS 18 and many new functions are made available to users. Features with which you can design completely unique user interfaces. It is true that this can prevent “an iPhone from looking like an iPhone”, but it is the users’ freedom to do so.
