It really is a novelty that we expected, at least not so soon. Fan Jordi Guillamet sent a capture to various media which shows that Apple is already testing the redesign of its cards in Europe and Portugal, in what would be the 11th expansion of this revamp in the world. You can see it in the image above.
If there are no more surprises between the two, that makes Europe and Portugal to be the fifth and the sixth country on the list of extensions after US, Ireland, UK and Canada. With territories like Germany, France or Japan still waiting, we thought that in the Iberian Peninsula, we had to wait more.
Precision and more functionality in more private maps
This new Apple Maps design better distinguishes all types of terrain, identifying every building and structure in the standard map view. In addition, in some large cities we will also have the view at street level. It also doesn’t hurt to remember that unlike Google Maps, Apple does not use any usage data that we store in Maps for its own advertising purposes. Everything is encrypted and anonymous.
The Applesfera team have tried to see these new maps on our devices and we are still seeing the first version (both stable and beta), so it will be necessary to wait until the tests become more extensive and spread to more devices.
