Apple has had to temporarily shut down a factory used to make the iPhone in India following protests from its workers.
A factory in India had to be temporarily closed due to a health problem caused by poor working conditions in which were employees dedicated to the installation and assembly of the components of the iPhone.
Things don’t always go well for Apple, and it’s not exempt from going through issues with its employees. Just as it recently had to compensate its workers for a class action lawsuit against the strict safety measures applied by the company, it now finds itself in a somewhat complicated position, as one of the factories it uses to l industry of its devices. was closed due to food poisoning
In fact, this factory located in Sriperumbudur just outside of Chennai in India is under the use and supervision of Foxconn. However, Apple had to intervene in this dispute and after receiving protests from more than 150 employees who were clamoring after being hospitalized with food poisoning, the bitten apple company decided shut down facilities until employees are in good working order
“Following recent concerns about food security and housing conditions at Foxconn Sriperumbudur, we sent independent auditors. We have found that some of the remote lounges and dining rooms used for employees do not meet our requirements and we are working with the supplier to ensure that a full set of corrective actions are quickly implemented.
This is not the first problem Apple encounters when closing a factory in India, because exactly one year ago, in December 2020, workers at Wistron they looted his workplace as a means of protesting against the lack of unpaid wages at that time. The issue was resolved until March 2021.
Hopefully this complicated situation is resolved as soon as possible and those affected can be satisfied with the measures Apple will put in place to ensure that they continue to function. This effort to keep your workers joined Apple’s recent initiative, as it was announced that the company is offering some really good bonuses so their talent doesn’t fade away.
