Argentina and Peru join Brazil and Colombia in the list of countries that accept Apple Pay in South America!
After a few weeks of rumors and leaks, Apple has finally confirmed via its website the imminent launch of Apple Pay in Peru and Argentina. In this way, the company continues to expand its famous mobile payment service to more Latin American countries, having finalized its arrival in Colombia and Costa Rica in the last quarter of last year.
Last week a leak obtained from the bank Interbank has confirmed Apple Pay support in Peru, promoting the service on its website and tutorials on how to add maps. However, a few minutes later, the information was no longer available. While in Argentina, the confirmation was rather a surprise for users.

In South America, Brazil was the first country to receive the service a few years ago, and the latest bank to support Apple’s own payment system is fintech Nubank. Later, the expansion continued towards Colombia and finally Peru and Argentina joined the list.
In Peru, so far it has been confirmed that the service will be available on interbank Visa bank cards, and customers can enjoy the feature with any iPhone with Touch ID or Face ID, as well as Apple Watch Series 1 or later.
In Argentina, it has not yet been confirmed which banking entities will offer the service. What is certain is that Apple Pay will have strong competition, since it is a market with a wide range of digital payment systems, although unlike Apple Pay they generally work via QR and not with NFC technology.
Along with these announcements again the wait continues for the arrival of the service in Chile, where last December several banks authorized their customers, only to deactivate the option without giving any explanation.
