We had a very complete year-end in terms of Apple devices with 3 different events in which the company presented new iPad and Apple Watch, Apple One, iPhone 12, HomePod mini and three Macs with M1 processor. However, there might still be something else to throw.
As you may have learned MacRumors, Apple sent a note to its service providers indicating that it had some sort of “AppleCare related change” scheduled for next Tuesday, December 8. It’s unclear what that might mean, but before each version of the hardware Apple sends out notes similar to this one.
MacRumors claims to have obtained an internal memo from a “trusted source” specifying that your authorized service technicians should “prepare for new product SKUs, new / updated product descriptions and new / updated product prices”.
MacRumors claims that Apple has issued “Almost identical memos” to service providers before product announcements on previous occasions.
For example, Apple sent out an identical memo asking techs to prepare for similar changes on October 13 at 10 a.m. PT, which is when Apple hosted the iPhone 12 launch event.
What could Apple present
We’ve heard a lot of rumors about new Apple devices, and it looks like there are two that are ready to launch anytime. On the one hand, we have the AirPods Studio, and AirTags on the other
- AirPods Studio. Apple already has the normal AirPods and AirPods Pro, as well as the Beats line. Next up is a premium headset with a headband design which we believe will be part of the AirPods lineup.
- AirTags. It’s a small Apple tracking device that will allow us to locate anything that is a backpack, wallet, bicycle or car from the Search app.
iOS 14.3 has already disclosed these two new devices and it appears to be compatible with them, so this is one of the possibilities being considered. And the popular “L0vetodream” filter tweeted that there will be an “Apple Christmas surprise”. However, it looks like we’ll have to wait and see if something is finally released or not. We will be attentive.
