In USA we know well the culture of christmas advertisements. We have the one from the national lottery and at the chime we are always curious to know which company is the first to be announced right after congratulating us on the new year. Whoever has the best announcement for these dates has the memory of the people.
Apple knows this well and tries every year to have a Christmas advertisement that shows the best form of its marketing teams. They don’t usually fail in their mission to have the best that can be seen on TV and on the networks, and nothing like some of them tasks
Apple’s Christmas is all about family, socializing, and valuing the good things in everyday life
In 2021, Apple made one of the best examples of this with this advertisement in which we see frankly stressed parents traveling with their two daughters to see their grandparents at Christmas. The girls pretend to be an earthquake, but in the end they surprise the family with a montage that ends up moving everyone.
Another ad that struck a chord was from 2013, with a similar premise. The young man of the family appears totally absent from the Christmas celebrations and finally shows that he had filmed everyone to make an amateur video that surprises everyone.
2018’s “Share Your Gifts” campaign turned to animation, showing a girl who is afraid to show off her creations but ends up (by accident) showing it off in the middle of the street and gaining the appreciation of her surroundings. A whole message so that no one hides their creativity.
In 2014, we were moved by ‘The Song’, the ad in which we can see a young woman preparing a montage for her grandmother based on a song she used to sing when she was young. Of those who touch very deeply the sensitive fiber.
In this o ther advertisement Apple resorts to tolerance: Frankenstein frightens all the inhabitants of a city but ends up winning their affection by singing a Christmas carol.
Another more recent animation that marks the arrival of Apple TV+ is the Christmas announcement of ‘Ted Lasso’, the service’s series that ended showered with awards. In the ad, we see how good old Ted loses his mustache and has to get it back with the help of the crew and his friends.
Finally, we have a few “endearing” ads, like this AirPods ad in which a couple dances while creating something new everywhere. It does not soften the heart, but it remains original.
Apple ads may not show up on our TVs as much as they do in the US, but they have all the necessary ingredients to remain in our memory for all the holidays. Let’s see what they manage to surprise us with this year.
