Exactly a year ago, Apple launched a global repair program for iPhone 12 and 12 Pro with sound issues. A small percentage of these devices had a production failure and sound issues. Thanks to this program, the user could repair his terminal free of charge in stores approved by Apple. Today, we know that this program has been extended for a year.

This official repair program included the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021. A small percentage of these devices had a sound problem associated with a faulty receiver module. The main symptom of this error was that when making or receiving calls, no sound came out of the receiver.

Outside of this program were the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max which did not have this issue in their global production. Until now, repair can be requested up to two years after the date of purchase. However, an update to the repair program terms extends by one year:
The program covers affected iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro for a period of three years from the original date of sale of the device.
