The company is beginning the process of adopting OLED technology in its future iPads.
After getting all the A17 Bionic chips needed to start mass production of the iPhone 15 line, now from Apple, they decided place orders for OLED screens for your future generations of iPad Pro. The company has asked LG Display and Samsung to develop 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch panels.
The news brings us a rather interesting curiosity, and that is that Apple excluded BOE of the equation. From BOE, they planned to build a new facility to produce OLED panels for Apple. There were several rumors that BOE was included in the production of OLED panels for the company, which ultimately decided to go with Samsung and LG.
Apple prepares the production of its new iPad Pro models of 2024
In Business Korea, they reported that Apple had requested orders for OLED panels from 10.9 inches there 12.9 inches a Samsung screen and an LG screen.
“Apple has already submitted orders for the development of 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch panels for the iPad with Samsung Display and LG Display. BOE has been ruled out.”
Korean display makers plan to produce the OLED panels at their sixth generation production line the 1,500 mm x. 1,850mm.
Another source suggests that Apple plans to develop iPad Pro models with 11.1 and 13 inch OLED screens. It is not known what the differences in screen dimensions are due to in the two theories, perhaps it would be a communication error related to the actual dimensions of the device and not its screen.
Apple currently offers an 11-inch iPad Pro and a 12.9-inch iPad Pro with LCD and mini-LED technology respectively. Other rumors claim that the company will introduce OLED technology on its future MacBooks and micro-LED displays on Apple Watch in 2024.
