According to information shared by Macrumors, the South Korean firm OSAT began developing the single-chip module that leverages the autopilot feature last year.and is expected to be completed in 2023.

The report also clarifies that Apple offices have received bill of materials (BOM) rights for the project and have selected South Korean company OSAT to fulfill the order. Said chips oversee AI calculations

and typically incorporate a neural processing unit, CPU, GPU, memory, and camera interface, among other functions.

Apple’s relationship with South Korea to manufacture the Apple Car seems to extend beyond this aspect. Previous analyzes have confirmed that Apple is in talks with several manufacturers in this country, for development and assembly of the Apple Car battery.

However, despite the details that are almost taken for granted, it is still not possible to agree on the launch date of the car. Among the most credible reports, those of the Apple analyst stand out, Ming-Chi Kuo, who thinks the Apple Car will be ready to launch between 2025 and 2027

. However, Kuo said he wouldn’t be surprised to see the release schedule stretch to 2028 or later.

While Bloomberg’s Mark Gurmanis more optimistic and predicts the launch of the Apple Car by 2025.
