AirPods

As you may have heard when you recently went through our Podcast or our website, AirPods Pro has just received an update as told here on iPhone News. However, as you may have noticed, all the heads in the AirPod series have received no update, so far. The time has come, Cupertino Company has released a firmware update that touches on the second type of AirPods. This is how the North American company continues to bet on improving the performance of its headphones, which is important to know because many users are unaware that their AirPods are also getting updates.

The previous version of the AirPods firmware was 2A364, and the one recently released by the Copertino company is the 2D15 version. As we mentioned, this update affects AirPods V2 or second-generation AirPods, in a sense it will not reach users with the first version of AirPods. It can be difficult to find out if your AirPods are updated or not, and it's completely impossible to force an update, that is, manually update it. They will be renewed if the system deems appropriate and you will be able to check only if they have been renewed or not.

To check if it's yours AirPods the second generation is updated in the following latest version with the steps below:

  1. Make sure you have AirPods connected to your iPhone or iPad
  2. Open the Settings app
  3. Select the "General" option
  4. Enter "Information" section
  5. Click the text "AirPods" or the name you provided directly

There you will be able to test Firmware type, if it is similar to 2D15, the ultimate in energy efficiency. This is the third update when we consider that in December they were upgraded to 2C54.
