Apple is working on ‘Ajax’, its generative AI technology ready for 2024

We have been working and experimenting with new generative artificial intelligences (AI) for a long time in recent months. Since the arrival of Open AI Chat GPT, many companies have deployed their entire technological arsenal to offer new tools centered on the generation of information. Among them is Google with its platform called Bard which is already available in USA. Apple has yet to make a statement. even as we expected this to happen at the last WWDC23. However, everything seems to indicate that Apple already has its generative AI ready, which they have internally called ‘Ajax’

and could be ready by 2024.

GPT Chat has been a major problem for Apple. Beyond the technology itself, Tim Cook and his team have limited the use of Open AI chat to their employees to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of their projects. The solution to this problem was create your own generative AI multiple use: indoor and public. According to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, Apple would already have its generative AI ready and would be ready to launch it in 2024.

This is Ajax, a project that began to be built in 2022 and of which we have supposedly already seen the first results in machine learning functions. According to some Apple employees, we have already seen Ajax influences in search results, Siri or Apple Maps. But Ajax’s goal now is generate language models that can be used to create a tool similar to Chat GPT.

The tool is already being used by employees with special pre-approval from senior management and helps employees create product prototypes, summarize text, and answer questions based on data provided to them. But what is really surprising is that Apple has no plans to release Ajax publicly anytime soon

as its own Chat GPT-style tool, but rather its long-term use should be described. The first step has already been taken, which is to eliminate distractions for your employees with your own generative AI system.

Many close employees within the company think Apple might announce something big related to artificial intelligence in the year 2024. But what is still unknown is the content of this announcement or even if behind this intention hides the public exit of Ajax.
