The next February 1st departures Black History Month. It is a time dedicated to remembering and celebrating the achievements and contributions of African Americans throughout history. This month the goal is highlight the importance of the culture and history of black communities as well as paying tribute to exceptional figures in each field.
The new Black Unity collection features designs inspired by the resilience and beauty of the Black community. The flowers and bright colors represent Pan-Africanism and symbolize generations working together to eradicate injustices and break down systemic barriers.
Apple has always participated in Black History Month. Many times they create their own section on the web promoting African Americans or launches its annual accessories collection. For this 2024, Apple has launched a sports bracelet called Black Unity which has a floral composition in abstract design in the colors red, green and yellow. As Apple comments, each strap sold is unique because a layering process was used to create small variations in each strap. Added to this is a recording: “Truth, Power, Solidarity”.
It was also included in the collection a Flowers of Unity sphere on the Apple Watch which has a little animation like flowers blooming when we move our wrist. And, for iOS and iPadOS, a new background also with a floral pattern. The bracelet will be available from January 23 at a price of 49 dollars while the dial and caseback will be available in iOS 17.3 and watchOS 10.3, so the release of these versions will happen soon.
