iOS 13 has brought new features to Apple Maps such as the arrival of panoramic view or “look around”. This function, similar to the Street View of Google Maps, allows the user to visualize streets and roads as if they were present there. Thanks to a fleet of vehicles with enough technology to capture 360º, Apple has managed to reach many countries, including Europe. In fact, in recent weeks, from Cupertino, they are planning new routes for their vehicles with the aim of increase the number of countries and regions that support Look Around,

Apple is performing field measurements with vehicles around the world to collect data to improve Apple Maps and support “Find” functionality. We may periodically review and collect information from certain locations in order to maintain a current and high quality map.
Apple Maps informs via the official website that they have collect the information necessary for the realization of the panoramic views collected in Look Around. It uses backpacks, iPhones, iPads and vehicles equipped with high quality 360º cameras to collect as much information as possible from different countries.

The official site collects the dates when the images were captured. For example, the last update of the maps of Europe took place between May and June of this year. We can change country to observe when is a new cartography planned with Apple’s 360º technology?

In the case of Switzerland, some regions have already started their mapping in the second half of July and will run until August 16, others will start in August and end in September. Another example is Austria, which begins its mapping from September in some regions. In others, it started on July 12 and will end on September 25.
